Dr. Tony A. Rogers

Tony was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He and his wife, Terrie, have three children (Jeremy, Heather, Jordan) and 14 grandchildren. Tony enjoys family, friends, baseball, hunting, fishing, and playing mandolin. Tony has been in ministry for over 39 years now. He is currently serving as the Senior Pastor of Southside Baptist Church in Bowie, TX, where he has been since 2008. He has previously served as the Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton, TX and before that as Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Cuero, TX. He is a firm believer in the inerrancy and authority of Scripture, and as such, believes in expository preaching, and preaches verse-by-verse exposition through the Bible.
Tony has served in many denominational areas on both the local and state level. He served on the Board of Trustees for Criswell College in Dallas, TX for the past six years, four of those as Chairman. He served as moderator for the Harvest Baptist Association, and the Alumni Board of Criswell College. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society, the Evangelical Homiletics Society, and serves as the Executive Director of Jeremiah 20:9 Ministries. Tony is a faithful supporter of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention (SBTC), and holds to The 2000 Baptist Faith and Message. |
